Both are classically trained musicians with extensive experience in early years music education, dedicated to nurturing a love of music in young children through engaging and high-quality teaching.
Lucia Vernon-Long
Lucia founded Mini Music Makers in 2012. She has produced four albums of kids music, has performed MMM shows around the country and the classes went viral during lockdown with up to 40,000 families from around the world tuning in daily to sing along!
Lucia creates and leads family-friendly shows for the Royal Ballet and Opera, is an Associate Artist for Streetwise Opera and works extensively with children with special needs.
Her music-making has taken her to remote mountain villages of Nepal, jungle communities of Costa Rica, and schools in Malawi. Her passion? Using music to unlock joy, confidence, and connection—for people of all ages and abilities.
She also runs Theatre Holiday Camps in Brighton for 5 - 10 year olds - perfect for Mini Music Makers graduates! Find out more HERE!
Annie Pether
Annie is a professional musician and trainee music therapist, with years of experience in early years music, teaching one-to-one lessons and groups in primary schools. She has a passion for the rich therapeutic potential of music, and how beneficial it is for child development. Annie plays the clarinet, marimba, piano and percussion, and incorporates these into her classes.
Her training in music therapy weaves in beautifully with her classes, creating a space where children can harness the expressive and explorative potential of music.
